Encanterra: Country Club Living & Luxury Resort Amenities
Encanterra: At a Glance
Enjoy an active and elevated lifestyle at Encanterra, a Shea Homes Trilogy community east of the San Tan Mountains in Queen Creek, Arizona. Resort amenities, a vibrant social atmosphere, and private country club living create one of the Southeast Valley’s most distinctive communities.
Two full-size clubhouses. A private 18-hole championship golf course. On-site dining, a tapas bar, pools, pickleball courts, tennis, a spa, and dozens of resident clubs. Encanterra is designed to feel like a resort — and for most residents, it delivers exactly that.
Two Clubhouses — One Exceptional Lifestyle
Two Amenity Centers. More Options for Every Day.
La Casa Clubhouse
La Casa is the anchor of Encanterra, a 60,000-square-foot clubhouse that functions as the social, recreational, and dining hub of the community. It houses the main restaurant, a café, a state-of-the-art fitness center, spa, yoga and Pilates studios, resort-style pools with cabanas, a lap pool, an outdoor amphitheater, arts and crafts studios, a culinary studio, a workshop, and card and social lounges. A full-time activities director and concierge staff keep the calendar full year-round.
The Algarve
The Algarve is the newer of the two amenity centers and has a more relaxed, European-inspired neighborhood feel. It features a resort-style pool, poolside bar with light dining, an arts and crafts studio, an outdoor event lawn and stage, pickleball courts, and bocce ball. Many residents gravitate toward The Algarve for afternoon recreation, casual gatherings, and a more casual atmosphere than La Casa.
The Amenity Experience
Few Arizona resort-style communities offer two distinct clubhouse experiences. The result is an amenity package that feels varied rather than repetitive, giving residents different places to dine, socialize, stay active, and relax depending on the day or the occasion.

Private Golf at Encanterra
Golf at Encanterra is centered around a private 18-hole championship course designed by PGA Tour professional and Arizona resident Tom Lehman. Unlike some Arizona active adult communities where golf is public or available on a pay-as-you-play basis, Encanterra’s golf experience is reserved for members and their guests. Golf membership requires a separate initiation fee and ongoing dues in addition to the community’s mandatory club membership, making it one of the more expensive golf options in the Southeast Valley. Membership availability can also be limited depending on demand, so prospective buyers who view golf as a priority should confirm current membership opportunities, fees, and any wait list status directly with the club.
How It Feels to Live Here
Life at Encanterra feels elevated and social without feeling pretentious. Mornings are active with golfers heading out early, pickleball courts filling up, fitness classes getting started, and residents making their way to the café or a club meeting. Afternoons tend to slow down, with time by the pool, creative pursuits in the studios, or a quiet afternoon at home before evening events begin.
Nights at Encanterra have a rhythm of their own. Whether it's a wine tasting at The Algarve, a live performance at the amphitheater, a dinner out at the main restaurant, or a club gathering with neighbors — there's always something available, and residents don't have to go far to find it.
The surrounding area has grown significantly in recent years. Queen Creek Marketplace, Fry’s, Safeway, Target, Sprouts, and Walmart are all within about 10 to 15 minutes. Local favorites such as the Queen Creek Olive Mill, Schnepf Farms, and Social Birdie add to the area’s distinctive character, while larger shopping destinations like SanTan Village and Chandler Fashion Center are about 20 to 35 minutes away.
One thing that stands out about Encanterra is how actively residents participate in community life. Clubs fill up, pickleball courts have waiting lists during the peak season, and the amenities are well used. That level of participation creates an energetic, social atmosphere that’s difficult to replicate in newer communities.
Like most Arizona 55+ communities, the energy shifts seasonally. October through April is the most active period, with full-time and seasonal residents both on-site. Summers are quieter, but the indoor amenities, early morning outdoor activities, and pools keep the community active and enjoyable for year-round residents.
Encanterra May Be a Great Fit If You…
Want a lifestyle that feels more like a luxury destination resort, with multiple clubhouses, resident-only dining, resort pools, private golf, and exceptional amenities
Are relocating from the Midwest, Pacific Northwest, Canada, or another colder climate and want a dramatic lifestyle change
Want a high-quality home base with convenient access to both Mesa Gateway and Phoenix Sky Harbor airports
Want an active, welcoming community where it’s easy to meet people, get involved, and build lasting friendships
Encanterra May Not Be the Best Fit If You…
Want easier access to luxury dining, shopping, resorts, and entertainment found in Scottsdale
Are primarily focused on value and prefer lower monthly fees and upfront ownership costs
Have little interest in the private club lifestyle, including resident dining, fitness, wellness, social events, and optional golf
Are seeking one of Arizona’s premier multi-course private golf communities
Prefer a fully age-restricted community where every home is within a 55+ neighborhood
What You’ll Pay for a Home
Encanterra offers one of the broadest home price ranges in the Southeast Valley. Homes range from the mid-$300s for smaller attached homes to more than $1.5 million for highly upgraded residences on premium golf-course lots, many with water views. Because Encanterra includes both all-ages and active adult sections, buyers will find a wider variety of home sizes, floor plans, and price points than in many traditional 55+ communities. The median home size is approximately 2,000 square feet, with median pricing in the mid-$600s. Floor plans range from approximately 1,200 to more than 3,400 square feet. With the community nearing buildout, most buyers should expect to purchase a resale home, though a limited number of premium new construction opportunities may still be available, along with condominiums priced from the low $500s.
What to Know Before Buying
HOA Fees and One-Time Costs
Encanterra's fee structure is more layered than a typical HOA, and buyers should understand the full picture before they go into contract.
Monthly dues exceed $500 per month. In addition to ongoing dues, buyers pay a series of one-time fees at closing, including a Social Membership fee of $8,500, of which 80% is refundable when you sell. The social membership fee is a more unique practice compared to other 55+ communities.
Total one-time fees at closing are higher than other communities and should be factored into your purchase budget. I'll walk you through these carefully so there are no surprises.
HOA fees and one-time costs are subject to change. Buyers should independently verify all fees before making an offer.
The 55+ and All-Ages Mix
Encanterra includes both a designated Trilogy 55+ section and an all-ages neighborhood within the community. If strict age restriction is important to you, it's worth confirming which section any specific home falls in during your search, as this is a small portion of the community.
Builder and Resale Reputation
Shea Homes has built a strong reputation in the active adult market, and Encanterra remains one of its flagship Arizona communities. Combined with its private country club amenities and distinctive lifestyle, that reputation has helped support Encanterra’s long-term desirability in the resale market.
THE GOOD LIFE AZ TAKE
Encanterra isn’t the right comparison for most traditional 55+ communities. It’s better thought of as a private country club community that also offers a 55+ lifestyle through Trilogy. Buyers aren’t simply purchasing a home—they’re investing in a resort-style experience centered around dining, wellness, recreation, golf, and an active social calendar.
The trade-off is cost. Between the monthly HOA dues, one-time Social Membership fee, and optional golf membership, Encanterra carries a higher financial commitment than most active adult communities in Arizona. For buyers who regularly use the amenities, however, that investment often feels worthwhile.
Encanterra also occupies a unique position in the Southeast Valley. It offers a level of luxury, service, and private club living that is difficult to replicate outside of Scottsdale, while generally providing newer homes at a lower price point than many North Scottsdale country club communities.
For buyers seeking a luxury lifestyle with resort amenities, private club living, and an active social environment, Encanterra is one of Arizona’s most distinctive communities. If your priorities lean more toward lower ownership costs or a fully age-restricted community, there are other excellent options worth comparing and I’m happy to help you determine which best fits your lifestyle and goals.

Trilogy at Power Ranch is age-restricted and has a public golf course within Power Ranch. While Trilogy at Power Ranch offers excellent amenities, they don’t match the scale or luxury of Encanterra’s private country club experience.
